Review Process & Policy
The International Premier Journal of Languages & Literature (IPJLL) is a double-blind, peer-reviewed, open-access journal established by Global Heritage Research Center for Languages and Literature. The review process facilitates manuscript improvement through editorial feedback. Reviewers who agree to evaluate a research paper bear an ethical responsibility to conduct their review professionally. The integrity, credibility, and reputation of the journal are contingent upon the peer-review process, which is based on trust and ethical obligations expected of the reviewers.
Reviewers should:
- Immediately notify the editor if they lack the subject expertise required to review the paper effectively.
- Ensure punctuality in submitting review reports and inform the editor promptly of any potential delays.
- Treat the data within the research paper as confidential and refrain from using it for personal, academic, or any other professional purposes.
- Consider the research paper as a confidential document and avoid discussing its content except when seeking professional advice with the editor’s authorization. They must not disclose any details of the research paper prior to its publication without the editor’s explicit consent.
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest—whether personal, financial, intellectual, professional, political, or religious—and disclose if the paper under review overlaps with any of their current research.
- Admit any personal biases they may have towards the manuscript.
- Critique the manuscript constructively without resorting to personal criticism of the authors, maintaining high academic, scholarly, and scientific standards.
- Inform the editor if the paper duplicates previous research, is plagiarized, or if there are any concerns about the authenticity of the results or unethical treatment of subjects, including any specific demographic groups.
- Use the prescribed forms provided by the editor to submit their review comments.
- Understand that while their comments are taken into consideration, the final decision on whether to publish a paper rests solely with the editor. Reviewers do not have the right to challenge the editor’s decision in any forum.
